Simultaneous Interpreting

Simultaneous interpreting happens in real-time and in parallel while the speaker is talking. The interpreter listens to the speech in one language and then immediately starts speaking into the microphone in the other language.

This takes place in an interpreting booth, from where the sound is transmitted to those who are wearing headphones outside the booth.

Unlike consecutive interpreting, this method stands out because it is not interruptive. The interpreting has no impact on the length of the sessions, making it possible to use the time available for the event more efficiently.
