Consecutive Interpreting

In this type of interpreting the speaker expresses some ideas and then pauses, during which time the interpreter transmits the same message in the language of the listening parties. This dynamic interchange proceeds throughout the entire event.

This type does not call for specialized equipment, as is needed in simultaneous interpreting. But since it is not immediate interpreting, it is important to be aware of how much time is available for the event, to make sure it does not run over.
